Billionaire's Unwanted Black Twin Babies Page 4

“Such a gentleman!” Indiana mocked without humor. “Your love of a challenge was all that kept you close to me until you could get the prize.”

“You want me to say it? Then yes, I did want your body, but I also wanted some type of connection with you. I was thoroughly attracted to you as a woman, and is it such a surprise none of that has changed?”

“Maybe not for you, but it certainly has for me.”

At her tart words, Max took a deep breath, and she could see his chest expand, stretching the material of his pristine white shirt. Did he ever wear anything that made him less appealing? He’d forgone a tie and left his top button undone, and despite her denials, Indiana couldn’t take her furtive eyes off the glimpse of his throat. It felt hypnotic to watch him do something as simple as swallowing.

Her eyes snapped to his as he cleared his throat. “That’s basically all I need to hear.”

Indiana’s heart sank, but she hid it behind a mirthless laugh. “Well then. I guess you meant it when you said you’d be gone the moment I say no. You live life hard and fast just like the media says you do.”

The moment she said the words, Indiana wanted to clap a hand over her mouth. Now he’d know she knew all about him.

His brow furrowed. “Was that why you never bothered to get in touch even if contacting me was as easy as making a phone call?”

“Don’t pin it all on me. We both know about your lifestyle: women, money, sex, power, being single–and women! Why would I get involved with any of that?”

“Did it ever occur to you that just getting to see you or hear your voice would have meant a whole lot? Even if you didn’t want anything sexual with me, what stopped us from staying friends?”

Indiana huffed at that, until she saw Max’s hurt look.

“I didn’t know that,” she said more calmly. “It never occurred to me that you even still cared.”

“Of course I cared. I just didn’t know what to do. Not after I realized I had lost the one person who loved me for who I was and not what I had. You accepted me past my looks, my money and my charm, and yet I let you walk out of my life. I didn’t know what to do, Indiana,” he repeated huskily. “Didn’t know how badly I hurt you until right now.”

It had started to rain soft, cleansing drops accompanied by a warm breeze. Indiana felt the wetness on her cheeks, but knew it wasn’t rain drops but tears she hadn’t even known had escaped her lids.

“I have to go,” she said. “I’ll just take a cab.”

“You’ll at least let me call you?”

Indiana wasn’t sure if it was pity or real interest she saw in his gaze. Did he really still have feelings, or was it just guilt?

“I’ll contact you,” she told him. “I don’t have much choice.”

Indiana knew he might not understand the connotation of her words, even as his grim expression had her chest going tight. “Neither do I. Because if I don’t hear from you, then I’ll have to do everything in my power to find you.”

Of course he would. Indiana expelled a shaky breath. She couldn’t keep Max in the dark forever, but she still needed time to make sure. Quietly, she stood by as he hailed a cab and then helped her inside, his hands shielding her from the drizzling rain. They shared their goodnights, and she rode away in the back of the taxi, not looking back. It was so hard to do that, her hands clenched tightly into fists on her knees as she kept her gaze straight ahead.

Max punched and kicked the bag in his home gym, working up a sweat late in the night–just not in the way he had wished.

He was tempted to call Indiana or even text her, but he knew he’d just seem unbalanced. Punching and kicking would have to be adequate release. If he pushed himself hard enough, he might keep his mind off things. Such as what Indiana might be wearing to bed…or what could be happening right now if she hadn’t changed her mind and said no.

Max pounded into the bag even harder. There was that devil over his shoulder practically yelling that all he wanted to do was bang her again. Get her out of his system once and for all. Because he’d never found any real closure with the way they had to part, maybe? On the other shoulder was the angel, reminding Max that Indiana was still too good for him.

Max stopped punching and held the bag for a moment, catching his breath.

  He’d seen Indiana.

After almost four years, they’d met again. He’d formerly had all these plans on how to react if they ever came in contact, but none of that had played out today. Instead, here he was harboring a crush bordering on obsessive just after spending a few hours around her. How could things stay so crazily the same?

He didn’t want to accept that, as she’d implied, things weren’t the same with her. Could she switch off what they’d had so easily even after just three years?

True, three years was a long time, and a lot of things had happened in Max’s life, for one. There was enough incentive for him to avoid anything sexual. Max had just gone through yet another breakup and had only just managed to keep it from the media. Hence his manager giving him warning about staying off women. And yet, Indiana wasn’t just any woman.

He really wanted to see her again. He wasn’t sure if he could hold off his desire for her even then. He’d just have to come up with a more foolproof approach.

Then he chuckled, leaning his temple against the bag. Was he even capable of seducing a woman like Indiana? This wasn’t like three years ago when they were younger. And she wasn’t like the women he was used to. Max couldn’t buy her things, or impress her with his extravagant lifestyle. She would have no interest in boosting her social status by being the woman on “Max Strafford the young billionaire’s” arm. Worst of all, she already had her defenses up because of the stupid way he’d acted all those years ago.

He couldn’t forget how it felt seeing her again.

She had an amazing body that oozed seduction without even trying. Even fully clothed, she could get him stone hard. Even now, her plump, soft lips taunted him with their natural pout that almost begged for his attention. It had been four years since he’d kissed her, touched her…

Just one moment was all it took to take him right back to that one night…

  Chapter Four

Wow, this place is awesome, thought Indiana as she looked around the restaurant she’d walked into with Max.

He’d said it wasn’t a real date and he only wanted to take her somewhere nice to eat. But by the look of the restaurant, it was the kind of place that celebrities hung out. The décor was rich in leather and gold, soft lighting all over the cream-colored interior.

Indiana knew Max’s parents were loaded, definitely old money, but she was amazed he could afford to take her to a place like this.

“I love this restaurant,” she told him as the waiter led them to their table.

“You haven’t even tasted their food yet. But I’m sure you’ll love it too,” Max said, his smile warm, just like the hand he had at the small of her back.

They were seated in a booth, and it felt really comfy. The atmosphere around them was the perfect height of elegance mixed with calm cordiality. Indiana soon forgot about the plushness of their surroundings and focused on her handsome date.

No, wait, Max wasn’t her date. Just her best friend treating her to a nice meal. Indiana shook her head, wondering why in the past few weeks it had become harder and harder to remember her promise to herself to stay “just friends” with Max.

After the dinner, Max gave her another surprise by taking her to a club. When they got out of the car, he looped her arm through his and walked straight to the front of the line of the club. He gave the bouncer a head nod, and the man lifted the rope and let them in. Indiana had to admit she was impressed, considering she’d seen the numbers waiting to get in.

Inside, the club didn’t disappoint. There was no smell of sweat like in most other clubs she’d tried, which were blessedly few. This one seemed more chill and definitely upscale by far. Max guided
Indiana to the VIP section, where another bouncer led them to a table after yet another head nod from Max. It looked like he’d really planned the evening out to the letter, because they also had the finest table service waiting.

Soon after they arrived, Max drew a reluctant Indiana to the dance floor. She loved dancing but felt shy doing it in public. But at least Max was there to be the supportive friend who wouldn't tease her too much.

Once out on the floor though, the atmosphere felt different the moment the music slowed. It was a popular song, and Max smirked, saying he'd been waiting all night for this moment. Indiana asked why.

“I get to do what I’ve been dying to do all night,” he replied as he pulled her close. “Wrap my arms around you.”

Indiana made no reply and instead ducked her head into his shoulder. She swayed back and forth with him, going with it. When he took her hand to spin her around, Indiana gasped in surprise. Now she had her back to his chest, and this time he hugged her from behind.

“Is it weird that I just feel like I want to spend the rest of my life like this? With you wrapped in my arms,” he whispered in her ear and made her stomach clench. He buried his face in the crook of her neck and inhaled her skin. Indiana bit back a whimper, even though she felt sure the music would cloak the sound.

He began to suck on her skin gently, before he licked on her neck. Then he stopped. Oh God. Why’d he stop?

Had the whole night been one perfectly stringed seduction? Because Max was making her body feel things it had denied it could ever feel. It was almost like being betrayed by her own hormones. The music, the sensation of the rock-solid male pressed up against her making Indiana want to grind on him like her life depended on it…told her she was on that dangerous ground she’d gotten to fear that first time she’d met Max.

She felt so flustered, she quickly ended the dance and excused herself to the rest room.

Indiana hadn’t expected Max to follow her, and minutes later she emerged from the ladies’ room and almost walked past him. He straightened from the wall he’d been leaning against and suddenly took her arm.

“Max, seriously? People would think you’re my bodyguard,” she teased with a playful frown.

“It’s the dress,” he said huskily. “Since you’re with me, I don’t mind you in something like this. But don’t wear this type of dress with someone else.”

  “Oh? And why not?”

“Because…they wouldn’t know what to do with it on you.”

Indiana rolled her eyes, but was giggling as he drew her along with him back down the hallway. Sometimes they could act like the best of buddies, but always there was that spark.

The spark was so powerful it sometimes kept her awake at night, wondering why she felt so strange.

Soon, they left the club and Indiana went back with Max into his car.

  “Hey. What’s wrong?” he asked.

“Nothing. Where are we going?” she said, turning to him with a bright smile to hide her inner turmoil.

“Wherever you want to go. Or I can simply drive around,” suggested Max.

Indiana paused for a moment. “I’m not in the mood to be out here. Let’s go to your place.”

She knew she’d surprised Max, but he didn’t argue. “Okay.”

He turned the car around and went to his apartment. Once there, he let her out of the car, and she stepped out and straightened while pulling her dress down a bit.

Max unlocked the front door and let Indiana walk inside first. She noticed the quiet and dimness and guessed that Liam, who shared the apartment with Max, must be out. Or maybe Liam was in the library because he was the consummate nerd.

“Hungry?” Max asked, but Indiana’s answer was a simple shake of her head. She felt like she should leave right now. Her whole demeanor was baffling to her, because she could feel her sensible side starting to give way.

And she couldn’t let that happen. Spinning around hastily, she faced Max, lips parted to tell him to take her home.

But then she saw his face, and it had her faltering.

“Why are you looking at me like that?” she asked, unable to recognize her own quaky voice.

  “I can’t help it. You’re stunning.”

  “Max…”

“I like the way you say my name. And you aren’t close enough for my liking.” He placed his hands on her waist and moved her forward. Their lips and bodies were just inches apart. Indiana gasped when she felt Max’s erection poking her stomach.

Indiana was wrapped up in the way his lips hovered near hers and the feeling of his body up against hers where she could feel every ridge and muscle of his toned frame. By the time her back made contact with the wall, she gave a sudden start.

“Can I get a kiss of your sweet lips?” Max asked on a husky chuckle.

Indiana nodded in confirmation. “You don’t know if they’re sweet–yet.” She wasn’t comfortable thinking he was teasing her, but she couldn’t stop the way her body ached for him like it had never ached before.

The way he attacked her mouth told Indiana he was in just as much yearning for their first kiss as she was.

As the kiss intensified, Indiana found her arms wrapping around his broad shoulders. When he moved his hips a certain way, he brought his arousal close to her center, and it was all she could do not to melt in erotic awareness. If she’d thought she knew what desire felt like, Max had her in for a surprise.

Indiana was the one to break off the kiss and unwrap herself from around his muscular shoulders to give her lungs much needed air. It was then that Max took one of her hands and guided it to his hard, erect manhood. Indiana was taken aback by the thickness and length of it beneath his jeans. For so long, she’d thought of him as just a friend, but right now, she was unexpectedly made aware of how Max was every inch a man–in every sense of the word.

Max started moving her hand up and down his member, his mouth capturing hers more gently this time. The groan he emitted told Indiana how much he enjoyed her lips as well as her hands on him. But the moment he took away his hand from over hers, she pulled her fingers from his privates. She could feel herself getting wetter, and that frightened her, knowing she could feel this much need. Sex had never mattered a thing to her, but right now Max had her wanting to cross so many lines.

“I’m not sure how far I want us to go,” she gasped against his lips.

“Just a little further,” Max said with clinging pecks on her mouth. “And I promise I’ll stop. But only if you tell me to.”

“Why doesn’t that sound too reassuring? Anyway, now what?” Indiana hoped her voice didn’t sound too shaky even while she acted unbothered.

“Now I get to taste you. I need to, Indiana. The scent is driving me crazy.”

“You mean…?” Indiana asked in dazed confusion.

He gave a confident smile that didn’t add to her peace of mind. He kissed her mouth once more, long and passionately, and left her gasping when their lips broke apart.

“I could tell you, but I’d rather show you. Let you know how it really feels.”

Max swept her up into his arms, and she shrieked. “You’ll enjoy it more in bed,” he told her.

“Well, just remember what you promised. That if I say stop…”

“You won’t. Because you’ll love it.”

Indiana huffed, now half sitting up on the pillows where Max had deposited her. “I still think this is not such a good idea.”

“Baby, there’s nobody here but us. Just lie back and enjoy everything I’m about to do.”

He silenced her with yet another kiss on her lips. Then he kissed his way along her neck down to her breasts. He nudged aside the cups of her bra and revealed her puckered tips. With a rough growl, he sucked on her nipple. Without warning, Indiana’s back arched and she offered up more of her breasts, to which Max paid special attention. Everything was feeling hotter and sweeter, and she was afraid she’d forget how to say “stop” much less know when to.

  Only
when her nipples were throbbing did he finally shift his attention from them to slide his lips and tongue over her concave stomach to her inner thighs. He tickled and teased her with feathery kisses from behind her knees up to her center, and it was then that Indiana went stock still.

  “Mmm…Max?”

His answer was barely a murmur. Maybe an endearment, maybe something naughtier… Suddenly, Max buried his face between her thick thighs, and whatever she wanted to add was lost. She replaced it with a loud, shocked moan.

He furled his tongue around her entrance, causing exquisite friction to the tiny nerves attached to her labia. “You’re all wet for me. And damn you taste amazing.” His voice was almost unrecognizable.

Max took his time, focusing on her slit and piercing gently in for the source of her nectar. Then he licked her clit, just to tease her a bit. Indiana’s hips lurched reflexively, his name torn from her mouth. Max licked up and down her slit, taking up all her juices. Indiana tossed her face into the pillow beneath her head, her hormones beginning to rage.

He worked her sensations to create a passionate buildup before going in for the kill. He began eating her out hungrily, his whole face almost inside her.

He began sucking on her clit and had Indiana writhing and moaning, unable to keep her body still until Max firmly held onto her hips. He plunged his tongue inside her again and again, making her yell out in astounded satisfaction. She started to beg and plead, but it seemed to make Max only more relentless. He kissed, licked, flicked, toyed and bit down on places that before then had never been touched. The more she cried out for him, the more Max kept claiming her with that skillful mouth.

This was utterly new territory for her, almost sending her into a trance. These sheer blissful attentions of a man were new to every part of her skin, and Indiana wouldn’t have foreseen someone like Max would be her first. Would he really be though? Not just the first to orally pleasure her but to claim her innocence as well?

  “Max!”
